Cabix ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use our website, our customer app, and our rider app (together, the "Services").
When you use our website or contact us, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, and any details you provide through forms or correspondence. We also collect usage data, including information about your interactions with our website, such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site, and we use cookies and tracking technologies to improve your experience, analyze traffic, and enhance our services.
When you use our customer or rider apps, we additionally collect: your phone number and a one-time password for account verification; pickup and drop-off addresses you enter or select for a delivery; payment and transaction references processed through our payment partners, Nomba and Paystack (we do not store your card or bank details ourselves); and, for riders, identity and vehicle documents you upload for verification, and the bank account details used to pay out your earnings.
Our apps collect precise location data to provide delivery services. In the customer app, we use your location to help you set pickup and drop-off addresses and to show you the live position of the rider assigned to your delivery.
In the rider app, we collect precise location data — including in the background, while the app is not in active use — whenever you mark yourself online and available for deliveries. This background collection is necessary to match you with nearby delivery requests the moment they are placed and to share your live position with the customer and with Cabix for the duration of an active delivery, for coordination and safety purposes. Location is not collected while you are offline. You can revoke location access at any time in your device settings, but doing so means you will stop receiving delivery offers and will not be able to complete active deliveries. We do not sell your location data, and we retain it only as long as needed to provide the delivery service and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We use the data we collect to provide and operate our delivery services, match riders with delivery requests, process payments, respond to inquiries, provide customer support, send order and account notifications (including push notifications), improve and optimize our website and services, send updates or promotional content with your consent, and comply with legal requirements.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. During an active delivery, we share limited information — such as name, phone number, and live location — between the customer and the assigned rider so the delivery can be completed. We also share data with service providers who help us operate our services, such as payment processing and payouts (Nomba, Paystack), SMS verification (Termii), mapping (Google Maps), push notifications, and hosting. We may also share information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections to inaccurate or incomplete information, opt out of marketing communications, and request the deletion of your data, subject to legal obligations. However, no online system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection. Our website may contain links to external websites.
